Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Rio Magdalena area, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. This is a buff clay, two part, slender, ovoid burial urn. The lid is surmounted by an abstract male figure seated on a chair or bench. He is modeled in an expressive fashion with his hands raised in the air. The urn is also pierced and has handles and incisions around the body. Size: 19.5" H (49.5 cm)
