Egypt - Late Period,Ptolemaic, Dynasty, 305-30 B.C.Size:25 3/4”H.
Description:Large carved hardwood standing Osiris, mummiform figure wearing the royal wig, relief carved facial figures. Wearing the separately carved double feather crown with horns. Long block platform, with a faded black painted glyph band. Some remaining traces of black and white surface pigment, multicolor crown. Some loss to the feet and a stable age crack in the chest, otherwise intact.
Provenance:Private NYC collection, brought to USA prior to 1948, to present owner by descent.
