Choice Greek Apulian Red Figure Plate, ca. 3rd. century BC
Scarce Apulian red-figure plates of the Kantharos Group, Workshop of the White Sakkos Painter. 320 - 310 B.C.
On the upper side between a band of waves a tondo with the head of a young woman with sakkos.
A fine example of South Italian art in the Classical period of greek pottery. Very attractive!
Size: 4.7" in diameter.
Condition: Choice, one fragment of the rim reattached and joint-line touched up professionally, othervise completely intact and with the original decoration untouched.
