Egyptian Cartonnage Sarcophagus Fragment, 21st Dynasty, Translated
21st Dynasty, ca 1069 - 945 BC. - Thebes, Egypt
A finely detailed cartonnage in multiple registers, featuring a good portrait of Anubis as the base and possibly two of the four sons of Horus in the upper register, with fragmentary funerary text that reads:
"... Ta-meh, the venerated one."
"... of the steward [...]-amun, true of voice, the venerated one."
"Words spoken by Nephthys to Osiris: [...] the one who is in the hour, so that Amun might waken..."
Condition: Fragment as shown in two parts with losses and cracks. Museum quality custom mount that aids stability. The back corner of the mount is damaged, but it presents extremely well.
