One of oldest pottery pieces you will see from the first mankind establishment in Iraq . This was found at the site of the ancient city of UR..It was used as a vessel for ceremonial liquids to toast the Gods and Kings of that era. It was used by high priestess or priest in religious ceremonies. This particular one has not lost any painting detail and was repaired only at the top where one break occurred.
Excellent condition for a piece dating back 5400 years .
Some of the pottery was found in the Ziggarat in Ur, and its unknown the exact location off it being found close to the Garden of Eden and UR .
It has beautiful Arabian Oryx antelopes painted on the vessel plus 3 layers of designs all around the vessel for ceremonial liquids .
